 Great product, easy install September 3, 2010

This panel kit solves a big problem in 07+ JK wranglers - storage up front. The Daystar panel kit gives 2 trays to store things like sunglasses, cell phones, iPods, etc. It doesn't block the view at all. Installation was a snap, took about 10 minutes.

As any JK owner knows, there is not much storage for items in the new jeeps.
The Daystar Upper Dash Panel is a must for any JK.
I will not be installing any switches on it, but it does hold my cell phone, sun glasses, etc.
The front indent is not quite wide enought for my blackberry, but it holds my wife's flip phone fine.
Instalation was easy.
The fit was good, but could be better. It is not quite wide enough to fill the gap, but does not look bad. it just could be about 1/8 wider on each side.
Placing a phone on the kit does affect the factory compass. It does not read the correct direction when a phone is on top.
I would recomend this upper panel kit, as there is not many other options.

my only complaint is that it doesn't quite fit as good as it should, but it does not effect the functionality. i would still recommend it.

I purchased this for my 2010 unlimited Rubicon. Product shipped in a timely manner and arrived in perfect condition. Installation went smooth using prior knowledge of taking the dash apart. I found the instructions to be lacking for complete novices to use. The fit of the product was disappointing and required some trimming of the factory dash to minimize the interference to a point I was comfortable with. Even so, the bezel around the stereo is still distorted under the tension created by the Daystar piece when snapped in place. I generally do not expect aftermarket parts to be of the same quality of the OEM component so my satisfaction level met expectations. The extra storage has been useful as the space in the vehicle is limited. Overall a good product and I would use again in the future.
