Definitely not as good as the Bosch ICON July 31, 2010 Another Choosy Shopper I mean, it wipes your windshield decently, but it does not glide as smooth nor does it adhere to the windshield in the same fashion. Tends to miss a couple very small areas when swiping.
Good initial results June 16, 2010 Dale Cordes (South Carolina) I installed this brand of blades on both a Suburban and a 4Runner. Amazon's sizing recommendations were accurate. Installation was extremely simple. I've had them on for 2 months, which equates to a fair number of rain storms in SC. No streaks, no noise!
I have noticed one minor issue. When the driver's wiper reaches the far left and then changes direction, it tends to grab a bit of water and pull it back towards the center. Generally this only happens for about 1/2", so it's not a big deal. In a torrential downpour, it did a great job of keeping the main area clear but the "pull-back" was more than 1". Not enough to bother my driving, but enough that I noticed.
Overall, I'm happy with them, and they were a good price. I would buy them again, because the issue I noted above is too minor to be worth paying more for another brand. I'll update in a few months to say whether things change.
Dangerous blades to use June 13, 2010 W. Leung (New York) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is my first review on Amazon.com. I felt compelled to write a review to warn people of my experiences twice with these blades on separate days.
When I bought the blades it was a buy one get one free sale on Amazon. Since my old blades weren't working out I decides to buy them based on most of the positive reviews I've read here. There was one review by Richard Hamilton (still available here) that mentioned the blades flew off during light rain. Since he was the only one to mention this I thought it must have been put on wrong.
A little over a month after I put it on, I was driving on the highway through a heavy rainstorm with strong winds when the wipers on the passenger side flew off. Since I was on the highway I couldn't stop so i continued on till a available pit stop was available. By then my empty wiper handles scratched a groove on part of my windshield. Since the weather was so unusual I attributed that to the extreme weather condition that day.
Today, a few months after the first incident, the one on the driver side also broke off in the rain. This time though, there was no heavy wind and it was light rain. Again I was on the highway but this time I was made half blind because without the wipers on the driver's side, I could barely see what was ahead. Luckily my friend's car was just in front, and between the both of us driving slowly, me following his tail light, and a bit of luck, we got off the highway stopped at the nearest gas stop where I was able to replace the lost wiper with a new one. BUT THIS COULD EASILY HAVE ENDED UP WITH AN ACCIDENT.
I believe the reason that the wipers comes off that easily is because there is no top locking mechanism to hold the wipers in place properly. I would advise anyone to look at the locking part if they bought this item, or decides to buy this item to see if they feel comfortable with the possibility that it might fly off for no apparent reason. I feel concerned enough about this product to warn people about my horrifying experiences with this purchase..
Stay safe everyone.
A Clean Sweep March 29, 2010 Richer (OHIO, USA) This is a review of the Valeo U-22 Gen 2 Bracketless Wiper Blade.
I have used this blade for several weeks and believe that this is a great blade. The fit for my Audi A6 y2000 is very good-not quite the perfect fit but very close. The blade was exceptionally easy to install. This is fortunate since there are no directions.
During a rain the blade sweeps across the windshield effortlessly. There is no noise nor blade chatter. The arc of the blades' sweep results in a perfectly cleared glass. I was concerned about the lack of a wind-foil on the driver's side, but there was no blade lift while driving at 65 mph during a rainstorm.
My recommendataion to Valeo is to trim down the attachment bracket a lot so that the blade appears integrated with the wiper arm.
The appearance is a bit ugly.
I hope that the fine quality of the blade endures as long as the previous Teflon blade that it replaces. I actually got several years use with the Teflon blades; and only replaced them because they were getting noisy (still cleared rain from the glass perfectly, however). To make full-disclosure, however, the car was kept out of the sun and inclement weather most of the time.
Worst Blades March 3, 2010 Jamie Olk (New York) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Put these blades on my 2005 Altima, and was VERY disappointed. Since I usually put the Valeo Ultimate blades on my car I figured I would give these a try. The results were horrible, they lifted while driving, streaked and missed about 1/4 of the windshield. Would get better results with the cheap blades from wal mart
