Product Description
Cleaning coated or painted wheels can be risky business if youre not using the right brush. Since brake dust is the most likely suspect Mothers Brake Dust Brush is all you need to gently remove brake dust from delicate wheels. The bristles are made of soft polypropylene which is thinner and therefore softer than nylon bristles. While brake dust can be stubborn it doesnt take a rough brush to remove it. It just takes some agitation with a soft brush to loosen the brake dust so it rinses away easily.Mothers Brake Dust Brush is packed with bristles to whisk away brake dust without scratching coated painted plated or polished wheels. The round head fits between spokes to clean multiple surfaces at once. The bristles are held in place by a thick interior wire which will never touch your wheels thanks to the plush bristles. The handle of the brush has a textured rubber grip and an ergonomic shape thats easy on your hands. The bristles are chemical resistant and suitable for use with any wheel cleaner.Use Mothers Wheel Mist All Wheel Cleaner if you have coated wheels. If not use Mothers Wheel Mist Chrome/Wire Wheel Cleaner. The brush will come in handy when cleaning between spokes.Mothers Brake Dust Brush reaches brake dust where it hides so your wheels look their best.11 inches

2 out of 5 stars Mother's brake dust brush   July 14, 2010
A. Chan (Texas)
Only one use the brush is already deformed to a point where it is not very effective. I give it a 2 stars b/c it does do it's job when new. It is just not very durable.

3 out of 5 stars Nice but too large   June 11, 2010

Seems like a well made brush, but it turned out to be too thick to fit into the split spoke design of my wheels. The search continues for a thinner brush.

4 out of 5 stars I would purchase again   April 17, 2010
S. Luke (Central Illinois)
This brush does an adequate job of scrubbing my wheels - and I would purchase it again. I currently have 7 spoke wheels and a lot of brake dust! This wheel brush does a good job of cleaning my wheels. I typically spray my wheels with wheel cleaner and let them soak for a few minutes before I use the brush. The braided design is meant to be flexible for various wheel patterns, it is easy to scrub too hard on my spoke pattern and cause the braided loops will flex.

2 out of 5 stars too flimsy   April 8, 2010

The braided wire from which the fibers extend are too exposed. When I use the brush in the tight spaces of my wheels, the metal wire rubs against the surface. Also, the fibers come off pretty easily. I stopped using the brush before it scratched my wheels. If you don't have narrow spaces you'd use this brush in, it's probably fine. If you do, you might not like it.

2 out of 5 stars A bit like an aging banker   March 7, 2010
Kuyper (Seattle, WA & Los Gatos, CA - USA)
Sadly, this brush just isn't up to the task (with apologies to aging bankers)

First, just like an aging banker, it loses bristles rapidly and after only 3 uses, it is shedding them fast.

Secondly, again just like an aging banker, it doesn't have the staying power and is unable to stay stiff for long. It should ship with some blue pills 'cos the handle-to-brush connector gets limp after juts a few strokes.

Shame really, I was hoping this would do the trick for me and get into all the openings, but it just couldn't handle it.
